Innovation for Fukuoka's SMEs with technologies and services from start-ups
The Fukuoka Startup Selection is an event where startups, local companies, and venture capitalists come together to create new business opportunities by connecting with each other.
This year, a business-matching and business-matching meeting will be held with carefully selected start-up companies to help small and medium-sized businesses continue and expand even in the face of the corona crisis. The theme for this year's panel is GovTech.
The Japanese government has entities such as JETRO with the mission of connecting foreign entities
to the ecosystem in Japan and Japanese companies to ecosystems abroad.
Over the last few years, Fukuoka City has taken further steps to ascertain its presence on the global stage.
Measures were taken to champion MoU agreements with cities such as Singapore, Bordeaux, Taipei, and more in order to create a global hub network.
Amidst the strong push from the leadership of Fukuoka City, the role of the government in spurring innovation is limited
and the help of organizations/ambassadors like YOU/YOUR Organization are crucial in achieving any goal.
The Panel will be Moderated by Benjamin Boas & I. The language will be in Japanese and the panel will be a total of 50 minutes.
The topic will revolve around the role of organizations such as : Rainmaking, CIC/Venture Cafe, Plug and Play, 500 Startups acting as bridges linking
investors, startup, corporates, entrepreneurs, and more from different ecosystems to each other.

Education" is one of the most important factors in creating the future.
Society is changing dramatically as technology advances, but how should education change to cope with these changes?
As times change, so should the education we need, but the question of what to change and how to change it, and what is needed to do so, is too complex.
We would like to have a serious discussion on the future of education from various angles: whether public education should be changed, whether private education should do something about it, whether the government should implement policies, and whether parents should do something about it.
Families, workplaces, schools, hobbies, and communities that used to be somewhat fixed in the past are now beginning to blend into each other and reveal new possibilities.
As technology evolves and society continues to change, the way people relate to each other may change, or it may be the same as it was in the past.
Either way, the relationship between people is an inseparable part of their lives, and if a community is good for each of us, it will directly affect our happiness in life.
We would like to think about the state of communities today and in the future.
Saunas have been enjoying one of the biggest excitement in recent years in history. Saunas are becoming more and more diversified, from fashionable sauna facilities such as Finnish-style and women-only saunas to outdoor saunas such as tent saunas and self-built saunas.
In addition, it has been pointed out that saunas can be an experience for all five senses of the local and regional resources, such as vegetation (aroma vichta), water quality (lauryu and water baths), landscape (outdoor air baths) and foodstuffs (sauna food).
Important players in local sauna from government, private sector and citizen's standpoint will come together to discuss not only the sauna itself, but also the potential of the sauna in regional development.
(Jointly sponsored by Fukuoka Stock Exchange and Tokyo Stock Exchange)
In recent years, it has been said that the revival of the Japanese economy depends on the creation of each regional economy.
In particular, there has been a growing trend toward support for the promotion of industry and the creation of new innovations, and it is expected to spread nationwide in the future.
In this event, two tech venture managers who started their businesses in Kyushu in the midst of this trend and have achieved growth, will talk about their experiences of going from start-up to IPO.
Mobility" is as essential to our lives as food, clothing and shelter.
Electric kickboards are attracting a lot of attention as a means of transportation, as regulations have been relaxed through the use of national strategic zones and other measures to allow them to run on public roads.
Mobility in urban and rural areas
What is safe mobility?
Mobility changing due to infectious diseases
The players of the mobility that develops in different parts of the world will discuss such things.
Complex festivals combining music, film, IT, art, sports, food and other genres are taking place in cities both in Japan and abroad, such as Sapporo's NoMaps, Okinawa's LEAP DAY, Kobe's 078KOBE and Fukuoka's Myojowaraku.
As part of the "Urban Festivals" series, the organizers of the above festivals have gathered to talk about the future. But this time, we invites actual community members to join us for a talk session. We will discuss the real aspects of the community and the future of the community as members.
